One Month...

We have officially been married for one whole month. It has been a really great month. It seems a little strange still. I still feel awkward when I call Charlotte my wife. We are still sorta working on getting the apartment in order. The guest room is actually usable, though there are still a few things that have yet to find a home. And we are still looking for jobs. I'm applying for just about anything I can find, but still haven't heard back from any of them, or at least not anything good. Anyways, we are headed to Galveston this weekend for Charlotte's cousin's wedding. We are hoping that we can actually spend some time at the beach, but we aren't holding our breath.

The Hunt For an Occupation

So the apartment is mostly organized. (Don't ask about the guest room.) And so now we kick it into full gear on the job search. I've applied for several but have yet to hear back from any of them. This is one of those times where we have to fully rely on God to get us through, but we know that He will because He loves us. He has a plan, we just have to stick to it.

On a lighter note, we are really getting along well with married life. Here are my top ten favorite things about being married.
10. Multi-car discount - Our insurance actually got cheaper when we got married.
9. Buying only one of things at the store - milk, cereal, bread
8. Saving gas - No more trips across town everyday to see each other - WE LIVE TOGETHER!
7. The apartment is clean - I never knew it could be so clean
6. The fridge has food in it - I always ate at her place so I never had food
5. We get to use the couch - Charlotte had a tiny apt and I was always there, but now we're here
4. No more fighting over where to keep the Wii
3. Helping cook - Yes I do, well, I cut stuff up. Thats all I'm allowed to do.
2. Living with the cats - We kept them at Charlotte's place, even Chloe :(
1. Living with Charlotte - I just enjoy having her around all the time

Just so you all know, we have returned to Huntsville and have commenced the arduous task of unpacking, settling, and decorating the apartment. That's it for now, just thought it would be good to update.

WEDDING DAY!!!

Well it's finally here. The big day. So far everyone has called me and asked me how I am doing like they are worried that I am nervous or something. On the contrary, I am more excited and relieved than anything. It has been the longest year, month, and week ever and I'm just glad it's here and I finally get to be married to my Angel. Well gotta go, lots to do to get ready. 6pm can't get here fast enough for me.

The Lightning Strike Mishap and The Fish Are Taking Sides

So, I (Zach) was almost struck by lightning the other day. My future father-in-law (Bubba) and I were out cutting some limbs off of trees and hauling them to a burn pile when KABOOM! lightning struck a tree right in the pasture we were in. I actually saw it strike the tree, and the tree smoked a little bit afterwards. Luckily it was not a tree that we working and Bubba had already headed back to the shed because he had to fix the chain on the chainsaw. The charge however transfered to several posts of a gate directly under the tree that was stuck. There are splinters everywhere that got blown off the tree and posts. I about had a heart attack and I jumped in the Ranger and hauled butt back to the shed and into the house. Right after I got back in it started to pour down rain, and rained for the whole next day.

Anyways, after all the storms, Charlotte and I got to go back out and do some more fishing (it is my favorite thing to do while here in Valley Spring). And for anyone counting, or who even really cares, I am up by four now. Last night I caught four fish while Charlotte caught none. Two tiny perch, a decent size perch, and a small bass. Charlotte is a little sour about it because I was using her pole and she was using her mom's because mine was messed up (I had to restring it today). Later this evening we will be going out again. Charlotte made the switch to live bait last night, only thing is, she won't put the worm on her hook, so I have to do it for her. Oh well

Day...I lost count...

So I feel I should have the chance to redeem myself, and redeem myself I did yesterday evening when Charlotte and I went fishing again. This time Charlotte caught nothing and I caught two fish. Granted Charlotte's two fish might have been bigger, I had variety. I used live bait this time and managed to catch a nice sized perch and a decent channel catfish. So, we are two and two. Guess we will have to go fishing again to see who catches the next fish.
That's pretty much it, not much more to report about wedding prep the past few days. We really got most of the big, hard things done early so it's been just a few little things here and there. We are almost done putting together all of our programs. Charlotte and her mom came up with a table layout. I halfway built a sign that Charlotte wants to put out at the church. Thursday we plan on going to Austin to do some final shopping and celebrate Charlotte's birthday! That's about all I got to report so...

Day Two

Today was day two of wedding prep and it was just as intense as day one. Well it started out that way. I got up early this morning to go out with my future father-in-law to cut and haul the wood to be used for the barbeque for the wedding, which took us about 3.5 hrs. It was really nice and cool this morning, and there were no snakes, which I was quite fond of seeing as to how we've already seen two while we've been here. Got the trailer fully loaded with the wood and headed back home.
Once we got home we had lunch and then Charlotte went with her mom to Fredricksburg to grocery shop and Llano for a dress fitting. I spent the day sleeping! I had about a 3 hr nap today and it was awesome. I woke up just before Charlotte got home and we had dinner. Shortly after dinner we went fishing. This is just one more reason why I love Charlotte, she can out-fish me. She caught two big fish, one of them was huge! I caught a whole bunch of pond scum. Oh well.
